An Update On Parker's Housing Market

Homes sales in Parker Colorado continue to be brisk and difficult for the home buyer.  Our inventory remains low.  All correctly priced homes between $300,000 and $450,000 are going under contract within a few days. Many of them are under contract before they go into our MLS system.  And, in most cases they are selling at above asking price.

Will Home Prices Remain Firm Through The Year?

It does not appear that a correction will occur any time soon.  In past years, we've seen the market soften up a bit in July and continue through September.  This could certainly repeat itself this year, but who knows.  As long as Colorado's job market remains strong, with companies hiring "out of state" employees, this trend will continue.  Many of the out of state home buyers are not "put off" by the high prices, as they are coming from markets that also have high prices.

Local Home Owners Choosing to "stay put"

For local home buyers, it's a problem.  Even though they can get more for the home they're selling, they are struggling with what they must pay for the next house.  Some have decided to just stay put and make some updates.

The Douglas County Board of Realtors has published some statistics that show what is going on.  Click on Local Market Update For March 2016 to see the most recent statistics.
